I’m an economist by training and I currently work at a company that employees a wide assortment of professionals in various health-related capacities. Over the last few days I’ve done some statistical analysis for a group of toxicologists who work in my office. I do not know anything to speak of about toxicology or standard statistical practices in toxicology work and frankly, I’m super nervous that I’ve done something wrong (I mean, I did what made sense to me based on what they asked for and what was in the data they provided... but I’m still not sure that’s what they wanted). The problem is that none of the toxicologists seem to understand the details of how the statistical tests they requested are specified and run... So they’re just happy they have results and are assuming I didn’t mess things up.

I feel kind of nauseous.
