I have a cake order for Wednesday that I need to start working on, but I really do not want to. I feel like I've painted myself into a corner here with pricing and it sucks. I did the same cake for one of my husband's coworkers for a stupid low price (I'm desperate for work and just trying to get orders), so when another coworker asked for the same thing I didn't feel like I could ask more. Argh! I'm so bad at the business side of this. Probably because I'm really uncomfortable talking money with people and putting a price on my time/skill. Suuuuuuuck. It's a relatively easy design at least, but I should be getting about twice as much for it. Next time I'm buckling down and getting a fair price. Of course, last time I tried that I lost the order and they just went to a grocery store. Have people never heard the saying "you get what you pay for"?
