What with the NFL's recent handling of domestic abuse, and the suicides and murder suicides resulting from CTE, both in college football and the NFL, with Kosta Karageorge of Ohio State being the most recent casualty.

But this video (also below) of UAB players responding to their football program being cut has me bawling. As does this story of a UAB player having to decide whether to stay in Birmingham and take care of sick father, or to find another football scholarship elsewhere and stay in school. The whole thing is sad, and bizarre, especially considering that this was UAB's first non-losing season since 2004, and the second time in 23 years they've had bowl eligibility.
