Ok, so this is a little vague, and may self-destruct at some point, but I'd like some input.
I was on the phone earlier with a loved one who was very frustrated and upset. This frustration manifested as them yelling. It wasn't directed at me, but it was in my ear. My response was "I don't care how frustrated you are, you can't yell at me". I did not get a positive response to this, and so now I'm wondering how other people would have handled this.
I am usually really conflict-avoidant, so this might be the first time I've pushed back against this person ranting while on the phone with me.
