Mr. Bottom received a letter from his company today informing him of his furlough. Technically he got it a couple days ago, but it was sent to our old apartment and then forwarded here, so it was a little delayed.

Thankfully, his co-worker got the letter earlier this week and asked their boss about it and the boss said it didn't apply to their department (as they are essential for the safety of the astronauts and equipment at the ISS). He also made sure that Mr. Bottom and his co-workers came in to work earlier this week. So hopefully this was just a mass letter sent out by the company to cover their buns, but that it doesn't apply to Mr.Bottom.

I was a little nervous when they started talking about the shutdown, but Mr.Bottom assured me that the would be fine because of his job being one of the "essential" ones for NASA. Then the shutdown hit and he was OK. So while we're still pissed as Eff with everything that's going on and hoping things get back to normal ASAP, we're also really fortunate and thankful to be one of the very few lucky ones. I know it's selfish but I really hope it stays that way. This letter has me freaking out. I don't work at all, and Mr.Bottom is the sole supporter of our little family.

I just want to express how this is all making me feel through some gifs (feel free to include your own in the comments!)
