I'll admit it: most insects reduce me to tears. I can't count the number of times someone has said to me "It's more afraid of you than you are of it!" NOT TRUE, MY FRIENDS.

I have nightmares that evil creepy crawlies are waiting to stalk and kill me in the night. A giant silverfish in my kitchen reduced me nearly to tears and the threat of bedbugs rendered me catatonic. I plan my route through the neighborhood to avoid unruly lawns and gardens where the bees and wasps hang out. I know it's crazy, but I just can't deal.

Am I the only one out there with an easily triggered fight-or-flight response?
