I have never grown up with or around animals. I’ve always been a little afraid of dogs and cats. Things change quickly, though! I find that in the last 2 years, I have been transforming into quite the dog person.
Tomorrow will be my first trip to the vet ever. I am taking my boyfriend’s dog—I never knew my heart could hold this much love for an animal!— because for at least the past 6 months, something has been amiss with his eye, and he hasn’t been to the vet since my boyfriend got him almost exactly 2 years ago (The dog turned 2 this july). He is always pawing and rubbing his eye, and it’s always squinting and watery otherwise.
I don’t know what to expect. I’m going to a VCA animal hospital. What are some good questions I should be keeping in mind and be asking? Are there signs to tell if this is good, reputable professional? What are reasonable things to pay for (I got an estimate that 4 vaccines would come out to $80, which seems okay) and unreasonable prices/services?
Anything I can do to make this as easy as possible for the pup?
Thanks guys : )
