I mean that literally. In this video a lion decides that enough is enough during a circus performance and attacks it's trainer. Several times. It's chilling.
I've stayed away from taking particularly strong stances about these kinds of traveling circusses. I'm convinced that it's fundamentally wrong but lack the inside knowledge of actual animal care to be able to defend that opinion. I hope that this kind of practise becomes illegal worldwide soon. I can't imagine that they get the kind of care they need. Even in the elephant or tiger reserves they get much better care, they 'perform' a few times a week but they are taken care of very well. I doubt they can offer something even remotely similar here.
In this case it seems pretty obvious that whatever is going on here, the lions aren't the ones in the wrong here. I couldn't find a direct link so I'm linking to the facebook video. I would suggest watching. Personally, I was rooting for the lions..
Has anybody seen this before? Is this a hoax of some sort or do you think this is real?
ETA: This is real for sure. Eclipse found an article. Apparently the trainer was in the hospital in stable condition during the writing of this article. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
