I know the original Women on 20's Ballot was posted here, and I just wanted to share they've released the finalists; Eleanor Roosevelt, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and because a lot of people wanted to add Native American woman option to replace Jackson, Wilma Mankiller.
But, now this is such a hard decision to vote on! I've always admired Eleanor Roosevelt. But, there is no doubt Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks were amazing women that did amazing things, and it would be amazing to have not only a woman, but a PoC woman on the money. I had never heard of Wilma Mankiller before today, but she seems pretty kick-ass too (my only concern is that she is too recent). So, I've got some thinking to do.....
I hope the efforts of these people to get a woman on the $20 bill work. Even if it ends up not being one of these women, just to get that conversation (and completed!) started in the White House and the Treasury would be better than what we have now.
ETA: Looking over their original list of 100 women, I realized I was a little sad one of my favorite historic women wasn't on the first ballot of 30...Abigail Adams has been another person I've admired since learning about her in high school.
