When I went to the doc on Friday I felt terrible. Sharp pain in my throat and feeling really lethargic. I was sure I was getting strep.
They unfortunately didn't have any rapid test strips, so I had to get swabbed and wait til Monday for my results. I hate taking antibiotics, so I had him give me the prescriptions and I would wait til Monday for my results before taking any, unless I took a real quick downward spiral.
Well, instead, I pounded a bunch of apple cider vinegar (natures cure for everything), and rested hard, and with each day, I felt significantly better and better. I basically knew on the second day, I couldn't possibly have strep because of how rapid my improvement was, but glad to get the call that everything turned up negative.
Ever more exciting, is that everything they tested me for looked great. Some of you may know, I had mono for the last year... well, he ran a test for it again, just to see, and it came back NEGATIVE. He said some people it always shows up a positive forever, and some people show up negative on tests eventually. I still struggle with lethargy when I get stressed and my damn throat swells up a lot still, but there is something mentally freeing about knowing I am negative for mono now. Hopefully it will further help in my recovery. I may get back into some acupuncture which helped me a lot with my previous year of developing all sorts of allergies. Perhaps I am still having allergic reactions which is swelling my throat.
UGH IT FEELS SO GOOD TO KNOW I AM NOT ACTIVELY INFECTED WITH MONO RIGHT NOW.
