As most of you know, we put up the new invite thread this weekend. That means a lot of the mods' time is spent checking out the hundred+ requests we generally get in any one thread. That doesn't leave a lot of time for reading the regular posts.

One of the nice things about checking out commenting history is not only do we get to know some of you, but I'm often directed to posts I've missed. In the past couple of hours, I have read some beautiful, touching, and personal comments and posts from you guys. It is always incredibly humbling to see people laying their feelings bare for relative strangers. It's a privilege to be trusted with those kinds of intimate thoughts and experiences.

There can be times, like recently, when moderating just feels like you're running from fire to fire, and no one likes the way you're running, or maybe they think you put the fires out in the wrong order, or they think you shouldn't be putting fires out anyway because OPPRESSION, and you think to yourself, "Seriously, what the fuck am I doing this for?" And it's always nice to be reminded why it's worth doing.
